Agenda Item Summary: On February 11th, 2019, Alexandria City Public Schools entered into a formal partnership with the Community United for Renewable Energy (CURE) to increase student and staff awareness for green energy changes and projects.
Background: In the Fall of 2018, the representatives of CURE (Community United For Renewable Energy) met with the Office of School, Business and Community Partnerships and members of the ACPS Operations Team to discuss a possible partnership that would support the increased student awareness of sustainable energy at T.C. Williams and promote projects to increase energy efficiency and reduce ACPS’s waste. Throughout the following months, various internal staff met with CURE to work through the different components (expectations/support of each party, goals, benchmarks and objectives) of the partnership.
Recommendation: The Superintendent recommends the School Board review the attached ACPS Partnership Agreement.
